Yet it's exactly what separates a hobby from a real form of motorsport. For most people, these products have simply been out of reach on price alone. That's why we built Topsplitters as a curated marketplace for premium sim racing hardware. Our collection is in no way, shape or form a list of business partnerships. It's solely brands and components we've personally vetted through years working in motorsport and sim racing ourselves. If a product isn't listed, it's not an oversight, it's a standard it hasn't met yet.

How do I buy something on Topsplitters?

Find the product you want, browse the available offers on its page, and review the seller's Condition Report to see exactly what you're getting. Click "Buy" on the offer that works for you, choose your shipping option (the quote you see is exactly what you pay, no hidden markup), and your payment is held in escrow until delivery is confirmed.

Is my payment safe?

Yes. All payments are held in escrow. Funds aren't released to the seller until delivery is confirmed and a 72-hour window has passed, or you release them early once you're satisfied.

How are sellers verified?

Accepted Answer

Every seller verifies their email before they can list anything. Sellers also go through Stripe's own onboarding process, which collects and verifies legal identity, banking, and tax information behind the scenes. We don't see or store those details ourselves, but Stripe's verification means every seller receiving a payout is a real, accountable person or business, not an anonymous account.

Is my shipment insured?

Yes. Every shipment on Topsplitters is insured against loss or damage in transit — the cost is already included in the shipping price you see at checkout, with nothing extra added on top.

How quickly will I receive my order?

Accepted Answer

Sellers are required to ship within 2 business days of purchase and provide a tracking number — except Brand New or Refurbished items from Official Partners and Manufacturers, which ship within 5–10 business days . Delivery time depends on the seller's location and shipping method.

What if the item I received doesn't match the listing?

Go to your order page and select "Open dispute" — you have 72 hours after delivery to do this. Describe the issue and our team will review it within 24 hours. If the item genuinely doesn't match the listing, you'll receive a return label and a refund once the seller receives it back.

Will I be charged sales tax?

Accepted Answer

You'll be charged sales tax on your Topsplitters purchase if you're located in California, since that's where we're based and legally required to collect it from day one. Tax applies based on where you are, not where the item ships from. Every other state has its own threshold before we're required to start collecting there too, so you may start seeing tax appear at checkout in your state once we cross it. If you don't see it yet, that's expected, not an oversight. We don't earn anything from this fee: every dollar collected goes directly to the state, not to us.

What fees do buyers pay?

Buyers cover the Stripe payment processing fee, currently 2.9% + $0.30 . We don't add a markup or earn anything on this fee; it's the same rate Stripe charges any business for accepting card payments. You'll see this amount clearly before you pay.

How do I start selling?

Create an account and verify your email, and you're ready. When you create your first listing, you'll also complete a one-time Stripe onboarding to set up how you get paid; it only happens once and won't come up again on future listings. Find the product in our catalog, select its condition, complete the Condition Report, set your price, and publish.

What is a Condition Report?

Every listing on Topsplitters includes a Condition Report. Rather than relying on a free-text description, it walks through the same set of specific questions on every single item, each one backed by photo evidence where it matters. It's one of the ways we hold every listing to a higher standard than a typical resale marketplace.

Can I sell any sim racing product?

Only products that exist in the Topsplitters catalog. If your product isn't in the catalog, you won't be able to list it. You can suggest additions by contacting us .

Question 13

How much does it cost to sell?

Accepted Answer

Listing is and will always be free. When your item sells, a 10% service fee is deducted from the sale price, no monthly fees, no hidden charges. This fee covers platform operations, buyer protection, and the tools that help your listing sell faster.

What are Official Partner and Manufacturer accounts?

Accepted Answer

Some sellers on Topsplitters are Official Partners or Manufacturers, brands and authorized resellers we've vetted and onboarded directly. These accounts pay a reduced 5% service fee, can list Brand New and Refurbished items unavailable to private sellers, and ship on an extended 5–10 business day window to account for fulfillment from stock. Official Partner and Manufacturer status isn't just a listing privilege. We expect these accounts to offer the Topsplitters community real value, whether that's special pricing or access to stock buyers can't easily find elsewhere, not simply a presence on the platform.

Can I cancel a sale after it's made?

Sellers have 24 hours after a sale to cancel it, no questions asked. This is useful if the item sold elsewhere before the listing could be taken down. The buyer is refunded in full automatically. Repeated or frequent cancellations will affect your seller standing.

When do I get paid?

Delivery is tracked automatically. Funds release to you 72 hours after the item arrives, or sooner if the buyer confirms early.

How do I open a dispute?

Accepted Answer

Go to your order history, find the transaction and select "Open dispute". Describe the issue, attach photos if possible, and submit. We respond within 24 hours.

How long do I have to open a dispute?

Accepted Answer

You have 72 hours after delivery is confirmed. After that — or if you release funds early — the transaction is considered final.

What happens if my dispute is approved?

We send you a prepaid, insured return label — nothing to pay. Once you ship the item back and the seller confirms receipt (or 72 hours pass without a response), your refund is processed to your original payment method.

How do I verify my account?

After signing up, you'll receive a 6-digit code by email. Enter it to verify your account, that's it.

Can I change my username?

Accepted Answer

Yes — go to your account settings and update it there. Note that your username appears on your seller profile and all your listings.

How do I delete my account?

Accepted Answer

Go to Settings → Danger Zone and select "Delete my account". This is irreversible. All your listings will be removed and any pending transactions must be completed first.
